We have been learning about sequencing, putting things in order and retelling stories in the proper order using timeline words such as first, second, third, next, then, finally.
One of the centres we have are using pictures to complete a short story and then to use timeline words to describe what is happening.
You can practice sequencing at home when getting dressed to go outdoors ("First we put on snowpants, next our boots, then our jacket, finally our hats and gloves."), when brushing teeth ("First we wet the toothbrush, then we put toothpaste on, next we brush and finally we rinse."), or simply by reading a story together and retelling what happened in the story!
