Shapes!
We are learning about shapes in many different ways, including the use of technology and good, old fashioned building blocks! Can you see any shapes where you are right now?
Poem/Homework for week of January 11th
We are learning about the word "like" this week. Also, we are VERY happy to see some snow outside! What we are not happy about is the cold, cold temperature. Boo! (We are also learning letter C for c-c-c-cold!) For homework this week students must fill in the missing words and then choose ONE, whether they like Winter or do not like Winter, and then draw a picture for the one they have chosen.

Sequencing
We have been learning about sequencing, putting things in order and retelling stories in the proper order using timeline words such as first, second, third, next, then, finally.
One of the centres we have are using pictures to complete a short story and then to use timeline words to describe what is happening.
You can practice sequencing at home when getting dressed to go outdoors ("First we put on snowpants, next our boots, then our jacket, finally our hats and gloves."), when brushing teeth ("First we wet the toothbrush, then we put toothpaste on, next we brush and finally we rinse."), or simply by reading a story together and retelling what happened in the story!
